2.25” or 2.5” exhaust??

So, here it is in! I think I have about 5 hours in it including removing the old stuff. Assembly is easy, slides right together. I did have to be careful aligning between the pipes and transmission rods to make sure nothing rubbed.

I did a bunch of changes at once- HEI ignition (SSD style), replaced both manifolds and went to 2 barrel carb (BBD) and the exhaust. The difference is kinda shocking! Way better acceleration and smooth all the way thru the rpm cycle.

2.25” would have been fine for me, $650 is the lowest price I found here. HemiDenny beat that price significantly and 2.5” is what TTI does.

I didn't even know @HemiDenny was a TTI dealer until recently. I sent him a message a while back asking about the TTI slant exhaust pieces but got no response.

I've researched so much here while looking for my 64 vert, I can't remember what I've read. Isn't there a need for some exhaust back pressure to keep the engine purring, or is that on turbo mods?

Sooo much info here :elmer:

Back pressure is never good, turbo or not. Lots of guys think that back pressure helps with low end torque but that's not true. Whatever they experienced to make them believe that was a misinterpretation of what was really going on!

Low end torque was it all right. I was wondering when I read it, thinking of all the dragsters with maybe 24' of straight pipe.
