CRANK WOBBLE!! Updated, found problem

-
Got the new damper on and it is good. Unfortunately when things went bad up front they also went bad behind the engine. The new tranny is also acting up. When you are driving along at say 60 miles an hour in 3rd gear and let off the gas the car just coasts and the engine goes to idle. It does not slow down using the compression of the engine. It goes to the tranny shop on Monday. It is under warranty.

It's really bad. Have a 3k order from jegs and everything is backordered. Like f&$+ me

Yep. It’s getting stupid. You can’t buy anything, and who knows how long it will take to fill the back orders? You are just swinging in the breeze, at the mercy of who knows who.

Trying to buy a set of wheels and tires from Jegs and they say they’ll ship August 18th from the manufacturer. So who knows if they will actually ship then? You don’t. They can easily back order it again and delay it some more.

Luckily we found what my friend wanted and all the stuff SHOULD ship Monday. Maybe. You never know.

Sorry to hijack this thread Jack bit do you or anyone know of a company that makes a small block crank hub?

I only ever see Big block crank hubs.

Thank you!

Transmission issue sounds valve body related. Maybe it won't have to come out.

I took it to them and took one of them for a drive. He confirmed that it was doing what I said. We tried another valve body with no luck. I brought the car home as I didn't want to leave the car there as they would have to leave it outside. I took the tranny out and took it back to them. As of yesterday's conversation with them they had just started looking at it yesterday morning. Only time will tell what the problem is. I am starting to get a little on the pissed side.

I got the tranny back. They said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I installed it on Tuesday afternoon and took it for a test drive. Everything worked perfect. I called the tranny shop yesterday to let them know the results. We came to believe that there must have been a piece of dirt from the break in that must have been keeping a valve stuck in the valve body and they didn't see it when they had it apart and cleaned it. It's been a PITA but at least it didn't cost me anything besides the cost of running back and forth to the shop and some driving time.

About the cheapest thing to replace, good 'bad' news! Fluidamper may throw the pulley alignment off, just an FYI.
Found a pic of my first gen fluid type CAT damper and its depth compared to a stocker and a "Pro-Race" with removeable weight. Later fluid type dampers had a recessed pulley face for better fit.
