Just cleaning up some paint on my motor but i dont see a vin pad anywhere. Its what i assume is original for my 63 dart. The pad under #1 plug it T22 5 06 which if im correct it a 60s 225 with a build date of march 6th? Thanks for the help.

There's not one. I believe 68 was the first full year for that.

Thanks rusty im gonna assume its original and before i had the machine shop have it it was stock bore and crank was untouched. Not bad for a little over 200k miles.

It probably is. If the date codes are close, I would assume it is. Date codes are all you have to go by on those. That and see if the engine size matches up with the fender tag. If it does and the date codes are close, that's probably it.

Yeah is a 63 dart gt my grandma bought off the lot in Los Angeles in 63. My great uncle bought it off her about 20 years later and after he passed i just happened to pull up to his house to help clean with just enough time to save it from the scrap yard. I paid the tow truck driver a $100 to unload it again.

Cool story. Post some pictures!

Here she is in all her glory. When i first brought it home it was parked for about 6 years. My uncle backed off a curb and trashed the lower control arm. He bought a new car and let this one sit. He drove the car 1.5 miles a day to the same gas station to get a sandwhich and a beer for its last 20 years on the road. He was unfortunatly a huge horder and when he passed my family asked if i could come help clean out the house. When i pulled up the car was on a flat bed headed to become god know what. Like i said i paid the man and he took the car back off. After what seemed like weeks of cleaning the house out i found the title and the keys for the car and wouldnt you know it a spare control arm. I drug the car back to my house put the control arm on redid all the suspension front and rear. Put a new fuel tank and sender a new carb, adjusted the valves and fired her up with no problems. I put about 100k miles on it before i heard a rod knock and parked it about 4 months ago. Just got the motor back and the boys ready for me to finish "his car".

When i was living in So Cal i lived across the street of an asshole city official. He called the police and parking enforcement on me almost daily for a "nuisance vehicle". He said it didnt run and he wanted it towed away. Everytime some one would show up id fire it up and drive it around the block. Finally i got fed up and an officer told me he just didnt like the color, that it made the neighborhood "look like ****,and i want it towed". About midnight that night i called my brother over and we painted that dart with 15 cans of grabber green spray paint:lol:. I parked it in the street right outside his front door. Noone ever came by after that but i know he hated that color more than anything.

Busy-nose neighbors just plain suck! I got 2 close neighbors and all of us keep our noses out of each other’s business. Nice story BTW!

Yeah i moved out of that state close to two years ago to a nice quiet little kansas town of about 4500 people. Found a house my wife fell in love with 3bedroom 2 bath on a 300ftx300ft lot but no garage. Me being me i caved but for 55k i couldnt pass it up. My wife massages the gal that approves permits twice a month and she came out last week and did some measurements for me and said i could drop a 40 ft prebuilt garage in my driveway without getting into the easement. So by spring it should be ready to go.

T: 1963 model year
22: 225 cubic inch
5 06: Engine assembled on 6 May 1963.

And no, the VIN isn't stamped on the block in a '63.

that shop is going to be great. i thought the first year for the vin on the block was 69' and 68' had the sequence #

I had neighbors in Ca. like that. I moved too. Miss the weather but not the neighbors.

Im still in socal and i lucked out most of my neighbors are older car guys, good job on not letting your asshole neighbor win though. im looking to get out of this state so i can actually afford a house.
