Is it the '67 Charger in your avatar and what's the tire size? Hot strip/street car or drag only?

Hot street and strip car, 295/50/r15s on 15x12 wheels with 3800lb SS springs and Gabriel HiJackers

Nobody builds quick '67 chargers and they are one of my favorite mopars.

I've seen some magazine "street" cars from way back when run the mushroom cams. I like the numbers on the GK cam, very much like a slower lobe rate roller cam. But I'm going to sit back and see what the others say, but I think it would work pretty well advanced 6 degrees too.

seems like a whole lot of stick for the street, I assume it's a manual transmission. I don't claim to be an expert on camshaft mating but that's more duration than I would be comfortable in anything but a full race application

The difference in cams as to which one is better is based on head flow for starters. Whats the ratio?

I have a lightly reground Mini-Express mushroom setup in my 451 and have fun with it on the street (4-speed and 3.91 gears)
(Original cam specs: .654 gross lift, .024/.028 lash, 278@.050). After restoring the lobe taper: .652 gross lift, .018 lash, 272@.050. Idles at 1100 rpm or so, 8" vac. It really starts to come on above 3000 rpm and so far I haven't had the nerve to find the high end of the power band :D

But that GK mushroom (or even the .620 FT) is an awful lot of cam for a 383. You'll have to wind the piss out of it to take full advantage, and hopefully your 915 heads are ported some too.

Mushroom cams bridge the gap between a sft and a roller. Ur motor will need to be apart to install the lifters. It’s more a race only cam. Have the guides been shortened? Port work? Street or strip. How much lift can the pistons handle. Give us more info to go on. Is it stick or auto? U will need more gear and a stall approaching 4000. The .590 is a better cam. Kim

I used to run an Ultradyne NF Solid that is very close to that stick in a 383 very much like yours. It liked 7500 rpm and a 5400 converter

4500- 4800 stall would be good in the b-body.
I think the 590 would be a better choice for the combo, heads being the limiting factor.
