New way for me to miss races

I’m thinking so but we aren’t sure yet

Looks like gout to me, but I am no MD, The way it came out of no where, classic gout. Raw cherry's is one of best remedy's. If you can find them start eating a few everyday and it should dissipate the swelling.
Best wishes.

maybe God's way of saying to take a break and relax a bit.
my wife wanted time off....ended up with chicken pox. God has a sense of humor.

I drink this that helps.

Several friends have recommended cherries but the only time I’ve left the house in 8 days was for prescriptions, a doctors appointment, and a local grocery store. And I paid for that bigtime.

My buddy had the same kinda issue. Turned out to be cellulitis. It can flare up at anytime and can be dangerous and painful.
Foot is always swollen, just some day more than others. Not always painful(I dont think).
I tell him hes got a platypus foot.

any stores have delivery service? Amazon have food store links near you?

No I’m a country boy. I think I have one pizza place that offers delivery and that will probably stop after the coronavirus scare. I’ll get some but hopefully the antibiotics and the other drug does it’s job.

My doctor prescribed a medicine called colchicine to treat my gout flare ups. It really knocks the inflammation down and took them from a 2-3 week nightmare to 2-3 days of discomfort when I saw what was coming. Apparently that medicine used to be dirt cheap, but now it's $6 or so a dose. Luckily, the maintenance drug allopurinal is working and I haven't had a flare in two years (knocking on wood). The tart cherry juice does help but I think I see less effect than others.

Allopurinol has the side effect of protecting your kidneys. Being type 2 diabetic my dr has me on it.

I did not know that. Good to know.
I suffered from gout for at least a decade before I figured it out. Knees and ankles always hurting and I attributed it to the physical activity I was doing and arthritis from previous sports injuries. I was in pain every other month. Now that I'm on the medication, it's like a new lease on life. I can't be stupid, but I can eat anything I want and if I keep it reasonable, have a dark beer or three when I want to.
