They are for SB. BB don't use them. There are different lengths so make sure you know which length you need. I'm not 100% sure but I think 318 and 340 are the same and 360 takes a longer one. Most people remove these when installing headers. They are usually in the way.

I think small blocks use that bracket because bolt spacing is further apart. When trannys were cast iron didn't need that support from the 50's. Needed it when used same wide bolt spacing when they went to aluminum transmission.

Kim, the set I pulled from my 69 318/904 original combo look almost exact to yours and are 11-3/8" and 10-3/8 long to long. If that helps
