I've been working at this for a while but haven't gotten much in the results department. I have a 66 Valiant but the radio hole was cut out for a DIN unit as shown.
I want to restore this to a shaft radio. The problem is, I have no idea what the original uncut dash should look like. Here is one that should be pretty close, it's a 65 Dart dash available locally on CL. Is this an original version, with that trapezoidal hole? And is this what a 66 looks like? If so I will grab this for some surgical repair. It is affordably priced so this would be cool if it fits the bill.
Second question, what did the original radio look like? I have seen many shaft radios but I can't figure out which one is the right one.
