Considering this:
A855 - 5 Speed

What is the general point of view of the efficacy of the 855?

I'm 'on the list'. I have always had my reservations about the meaning of that..if there is any meaning to it at all. I have the coin. I have been thinking of stirring the pot to find out something other than what I get from the 'no stock' banner on the purported mfg's website.

I'm out.

DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!! there is a huge thread floating around here with all the details and problems a member had with that over priced junk.. go in a different direction. go with something that you will still be able to get parts for in 3 years...

I asked here a bit ago about the "big" Toyota 5 speed---ironic, you cannot install a 5 speed out of a 'tiny' foreign car in an A body without hacking up the floor of the A body!!!

I already have one that I haven’t used yet, before matthon’s thread came about. So once I get my car going Again, I’ll just have to wait and see what happens. IF I have problems, I’d probably send it to Paul at High Performance Transmissions in Florida.
