Realistic Expectations - 11 second Demon weekly driver

-
As always, “ymmv”..... but my experience has been that...... on the dyno and at the track, the 4150 version TG is kind of a dud.
There is often a big hole in the power curve right in the area of the stall speed for the typical street/strip combo.

I went with the Eddy Torker or Torker II maybe it's called. Seemed like from dyno articles it was decent. Any experience with that one?

The original Torker has very small runners.
It makes good low/mid-range power but will definitely hold you back in terms of HP.

The Torker II has better upper rpm power, but isn’t as strong as some of the more modern intakes...... and isn’t quite as good as the old SD.

But, it’s good enough to run 11’s with no problems.

I run the torker II. Stock stroke 440 EZ heads done by PRH. 1082 @ 125. 10.84 @126. A body.

We replaced a friend of mines Team G with a Victor 440 and it picked up 2 tenths. Not the first time I've seen this happen with Team Gs..I'm talking from experience at the drag strip. If you want to castrate a 440 stick a Team G on it, it'll hook in the mud then.

Ran one on my 470 and again on my 496.Pulled hard on both setups.
My very first 440 I had many years ago had the old 509 purple shaft, 906 heads, 10.1 compression and the Holley Street Dominator. It's a real good working combination.

The Holley Street Dominator pulls up to 6500. Maintains good low end torque as well. Good little intake.

I remember an old magazine article dyno testing intakes and the Team G they had suffered from major core shift.

Not true on mine , wasnt much worse than the victor .
I gasket match everything to my cnc standard ports anyway.
the runner flow/spread between the runners is what is usaually wrong w/ the team G , the one I showed in the previous post now only has about 25 cfm scatter ,
which is way closer than a lot of ''so called great'' intakes , if you tested them . .

Read the 2 part article that Dr.Charles sent on Hot Rod testing several intakes plus the one I sent a link to. They're pretty good articles

I THINK THE ARTICLES ON HUGHS WEBSITE ARE PRETTY ACCURATE , COINCIDE WITH WHAT I`ve seen on a flowbench , before I reworked mine , after a whole bunch diff. . ,not interested any farther than that-------

Why did you have to rework it ?
