I’m looking for the 4 molded “z” brackets that hold the coolant shroud to the radiator on the 64-66 radiators.

thank you! Joe- Thanks 65 Dartman for the photo!

If my memory serves me I probably have a set or two that I had Leanna do for me. i’ll get back to you later today.

is that shroud OEM? If yes, we'd be interested in making both the shroud and the brackets.

If yes, can you take a couple pics of just the shroud? It looks 2 piece. You can post them or send them to chrisc@coldcaseradiators.com thanks!

I have a factory shroud. But need the Molded z brackets. I can send photos in a Email in a few.

I see now that those brackets have already been reproduced.

However, I dont' see a reproduction of the shroud. One thing I noticed is that the application is 62-65 and 1966 appears to be different? Can someone shed some light on the A-body shroud year ranges and differences?

Anybody have a 62-65 fan shroud they want to let us borrow? :)

There were 2 different shrouds for 65/66 early A’s - IDK if a shroud was even available in 63/64 unless it might have been fir a HD cooling option. If so it would have been the 19 inch version as the 22 inch radiator wasn’t available until 65. Generally speaking in 65/66, slants got a 19 inch radiator with the corresponding size shroud whereas V8’s got the 22 in radiator with the corresponding size shroud. FWIW I’ve never seen a factory 22 inch slant radiator in a 65/66. Additionally, to secure the factory shroud with the factory brackets, the user needs to have the correct radiator side panels to install the brackets

I have a 65/66 slant shroud if desired; I also have a 65/66 V8 shroud I might let you borrow depending on how hong you'd have it.

As far as I know, all the '65-6 V8 shrouds are the same. '64 and earlier A-bodies didn't have a 22" radiator, so, no application there except maybe they fit the B-bodies?. The 19" ones for the 63-4 slant 6 should all be the same too. In '65-6 a slant 6 with A/C would have gotten the 22" radiator and a shroud made for just the 6cyl. They're metal 2 piece shrouds. Are you going to make them as exact reproductions?

These brackets are unique and very hard to find....think the repop b-body ones are a little different....I have some I can get a picture of later on if needed

They claim those repops are the same as the A-body. Anyone have a genuine B-body one to take some measurements?

Yes, that was my thought. We've made plenty of restoration parts in our other company and this 2 piece metal shroud looks doable.

I also have a 65/66 V8 shroud I might let you borrow depending on how long you'd have it.
The 6 cylinder one looked much harder to do. So we'd like to try the v8 one. Once I have it in hand, I could tell you how long we'd need it. It could be 3-10 weeks but more likely the lesser time frame.

I am looking through my 65 parts manual and according to it, the part number for the 6 cylinder Dart/Valiant and the 8 cylinder Coronet/Belvedere shroud brackets are the same - 2099 555. The part number for the V8 DartValiant is 2524 494. Not sure what the difference is but with different part numbers, there must be some kind of difference. Shroud part numbers for 6 and 8 are different between 6’s and 8‘s both models

i looked at radiators as well - the manual lists them for Standard, High Altitude and AC for 6’s and 8’s. High Altitude and AC use the same part numbers for the 6 and different ones for the 8 for standard, high altitude and AC. They didn’t list widths. Hope this helps someone

i am hoping to finish my restoration/panel wagon conversion before your 10 week time frame. Based on that, I’d prefer to not loan it out; i’d be happy to let you borrow my slant shroud though.

I don't think those fasteners on the radiator bracket are correct. They should be bolts going in from the outside into cage nuts mounted in the radiator brackets.
The bolts are generic ebay “b body” ones for the brackets. Brackets and shroud are original.

I just ordered the EBay set of b body / 66 abody ones so I will know in about a week if they are in fact plausible. The one in the photos I sent Chris at cold case today via email (66’ V8 rad shield) is verified original and even the bolts holding it together should be factory. I’m curious if the repop brackets are correct.

Quick question 65 Dartman- in your parts book do you list a radiator ending in 28 and 30 for the 66’ abody? I sent my 66 273 Abody radiator for auto ending in 28 out today for recore and I kept my manual trans 66’ radiator ending in 30. Both have an “AC” stamped in the top tank left side - right side has the part number. I’m curious if the “AC” is for air conditioning or just a build code.

I would be interested in one if it is a good reproduction and looks/fits/functions like the original and mates to my "correct number" radiator.

I will check however my parts book is for 65 so the numbers might be the same or not. I would venture to guess the “AC” would indicate a radiator for air conditioning.

#65 Dartman,

I checked on MyMopar.com and down loaded the parts book for 66'
I cannot verify that number at all. It falls within the range of part numbers but not listed.
#2582930 Manual shift 273 with a/c
#2582928 Automatic shift 273 with a/c
I wonder if anyone lese knows what those two part numbers I have are listed for (a/c or Not a/c- that is the question- Shakespeare)

EDIT- UPDATE: I ran both numbers on the radiator part number look up on MyMopar.com. It says the number 2582928 is a /6 22" radiator for early A.
I wonder if that is wrong or at one time the top tank was replaced with another.
The manual trans comes up proper 2582930 273 std cooling.
