What changed in 73?

rear axle. 72 was the last year for 8&3/4, replaced with inferior 8&1/4. how much horsepower are you planning?
 
Obviously in post #1 " etcetera" covers a lot more ground than you thought. Unless you have at least a service manual for both years, it will be hard to know everything that is different. Many mechanical, safety and electrical changes made from 1970 to 1974. New insurance regulations, safety regulations, emissions regulations, Corporate cost cutting etcetera...

I was blowing 8 1/4 rears with 240 HP and a lid Oklahoma HomeGrown :BangHead:... 10 bucks for the weed and free rears under warranty. :D

Lol there’s a few lids stored in my spare tire.
