Princess, I grew up in Europe and have zero recollection of ever seeing on there, let alone the US

The Soviets wound up copying a lot (Concorde, space shuttle, B-29, etc) and this was no different. It was copied from a Fiat. Lada also made a small, crude SUV (Niva) if you were the rugged type.

I lived in Scandinavia for 5 years and saw them running around. That was in the 1980’s. Visited the Soviet Union before it fell and they were everywhere! Kinda like Beetles (original ones) in Brazil and Mexico.

The Yugo was another Communist built car made in Yugoslavia. Also quite primitive and not reliable.

This has shown up lately in my Facebook market place feed this week.

I'm sure there's a big enough moron out there somewhere who has one.

I have worked on them in the early 80's , they were not around long the term
P.O.S. was way to good to use , they were way beyond that .

Customer of mine back in the early 90's had one. He was NOT a car guy. POS is an upgrade lol.
$12,800....turn in your man card....

I’ve saw them in Montreal, late 80’s or so. But I believe the U.S. would not allow them to be imported. Now some ‘toys’ may be working their way in.

Yugo.....................Did you know next year's model comes with a rear window defroster?

That is so you can KEEP YOUR HANDS WARM while PUSHING IT

A Yugo was a Czeck built redo of a Fiat as well.

I like Jay Leno... He appreciates all cars for their own personalities. Not just the fast and expensive ones.
A true car guy !

Dude, the name Yugo doesn’t give a hint as to where it was built?

I put a souped up 350 in a Vega ,...I'm pretty sure I can put a V6 in Fiat!!!!. I'll do the same thing I did with the Vega, don't tell the insurance company that I replaced the engine. My insurance was cheap!
