What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

My new Converter came today. 2500 stall. For a 904 Trans behind a 408 Six Pack. I might have polished the flex plate a lil too much? Whoops. Lol

Got the dash back in. Screwing on the speedo cable was the worst part (oil gauge copper line was second hardest).
Someday I'll remake the whole cluster in aluminum instead of just the plate, but that's a lot of work and it won't make the car go faster ;) Meanwhile I have a blue highbeam light!

It will drop your time 3/10 in the 1/4 mile. I say start building. Lol.

I'm finally on my long awaited 4 day weekend. ...I've been working a LOT lately and I'm tired!
Happy Thanksgiving!
So I'm gonna terrorize the neighborhood with the Cuda this morning!

I wanted to use my Air Cleaner base as a serving tray and put dip in the carb base holes. And crackers around the outer ring. But my family will have no part of it. :BangHead:

Polished some aluminum a little bit more, I only polished the portions of aluminum that are not supposed to be painted black.... I can't tell if it is shiney enough or not, but it'll do... now I'm taping... I hate taping...

Use my Flex Plate photo as a reference for shiny. I figure I'd say it before DrCharles did. Lol

If I'm comparing my panel to that... I must keep polishing...

What flex plate? The one you might have over-polished? :poke:

I should have him come over polish my panel...

Edit- that last sentence sounded really bad...

Got the window gaps perfect on both sides of the car. That only took 5 days. But it's done.

I sanded some paint today.... sanding by hand sucks so I bought a tool to help out... my aluminum is also not a mirror finish so I bought a tool for that as well... shhh... don't tell the wife...

When the time comes that you wanna try yours. Pm me. I'll walk you thru it. I'd polish the trim. But for some reason I'm out of polishing compound. Not sure why? :(

You have to pull the rear seat and door cards to do it?

Out of polishing compound because you used it on your serving tray yesterday lol.

I actually got my Air Cleaner lid and base painted for 20 White Castle hamburgers. Yes you have to pull the rear seat and door cards. And top trim piece above the door card to adjust it. Like in the photo.

I made a rear seat firewall too, but had it painted body color when they did the shell. Not putting the rear seat back in...heavy and won't be used.
But that area really needs some sound insulation with dual 3" exhaust! Can't paint the foil-backed butyl or foam materials (too smooth) and exposed shiny foil with repeating manufacturer's logo will look like crap.
Any thoughts?
