Music/ songwriters who should never have tried to be singers

Porky Pig was never known as a song writer, but as an actor, he has a great stage presence with many memorable performances.
However he should have never attempted a singing carrier.

Kanye West… As far as I’m concerned he doesn’t have any talent. You old farts probably don’t even know who he is.
And what’s the matter with Axl Rose? He has the largest vocal range of any known singer. He’s a jerk, but the boy can sing.
He doesn’t sing, he whines.

As far as Axyl Rose, all he's good for is showing up like 3 hours late to concerts.

Cyndi Lauper good lord.. my daughter would play that one stupid song alllll the time and drive me crazy. Her voice was so bad and even manipulated as it was, it was even worse. Even worse was the fact my daughter plays several instruments well and still listened to that. Let me throw Ringo in there while I'm here. I love the Beatles but please get the mic away from him. I really like the song Boys but wish John had sang it.

Some of this is cultural. I’m from rural Texas. Willie is great. Early Kris K is great. I like Neil. And there are lots of old to current C&W, Americana, Rock and Tex-Mex artists I like.

On the other hand, Disco, Rap, Hip-Hop, Urban (got that category from SIRIUS), Techno, etc. do not do a damn thing for me.

And that is why the radio has so many buttons

With all due respect to opinions, Kris Kristofferson is one of the best writers and while he wrote lots that others sang, to me he didnt sing, he told stories. Much the same way Johnny Cash did, or Red Sovine, way back.
IMO, his style of writing fit his voice/singing style.
Nostalgia as this was Dads "style" so to speak and influenced me as a kid.
As I said, just my opinion.

Kris is, in my opinion, one of greatest story teller/poets of my generation.

I watched a GREAT documentary by Ken Burns called Country Music. Amazing series. Kris was in it. Waylon, Willie, Johnny etc.

idk how old the boy is, born before 1980 idk, but listen to luke combs! he a modern day singer songwriter worthy of ya ears!

You might want to check her out NOW. She's actually an accomplished blues singer these days. Been clean and sober a while.....that's a feat for a heroine addict. I think her voice fits the blues quite well. Who'da thunk it?
