I have the ability to pick up a complete with brakes A-body 8.75 with 4.10 gears and no sure grip.

What would a good price be on it?

if those gears work for you, id expect anything under 1000 an acceptable price

(with a sure grip, 1200)

I know I seen one for sale in Pittsburg, with small bolt pattern axles, with unknown gear ratio, already of the car for $450.00.

I sold one complete from drum to drum, 3.23 open for $450.00

I see some of the asking prices on here for them and laugh.

Yea its a bit less than that. Figured it's better to buy when deap presents itself than to buy when you "need" one and have to pay a lot more.

Oh I'm all over the place these days haha.

Finishing school in 2 weeks, "interview" today although I already have the job lol. Chasing my brake line leak right now... wanting to buy a 68 gts. Helped Tony build a couple of stroker motors and now I want one...

See all over the place

Nice and productive. Building engines is fun, ain’t it?

How come all the $450.00 complete 8 3/4 rear ends seem to have been sold already.

I bought a axle to axle complete unit about 8 years ago for $250.00. Those days are gone. The housing will probably be 450-500. If it's complete, maybe 800-1000. Some won't pay it, some will. But if you spec out a fab'd rear from anyone that grand ain't looking so bad....

I had it listed for about 6 months on various sites.

It finally sold at the Carlisle swap meet - on the last day.

I was thinking more like 200, but I'm stuck back in the day, so 450 sounds good with inflation over those years. lol

There were several bare A-body housings for sale at Rockingham this weekend for $450 but I’m not sure if any of them sold. There was one there that included the axles, backing plates and drums for $550 and that one didn’t sell either.

I wouldn't give 500 for one. By the time you pay somebody's gold plated 1000 dollar price tag, you couldda found a C body 8 3/4 and cut it to fit, or a Ford 9" or 8.8, or even a Mopar 8 1/4. If they want more than 500, let um hold it.
