I'm going to try and steal it for a bit below 200.

Fixed! :poke::poke::rofl:
Good for you if you can buy it that cheap. Now just remember, we all know so you can't resell it here! LOL

Touche'. I doubt it would sell here anyways, and most the stuff I list is cheap or free and it sits lol. The rear end randomly popped up for sale local to me yesterday. I dont "need" it now, but I may after I break something going to the track with Tony. Or I could use it to outfit with disc brakes and springs moved in then swap it into my car... since I have future plans for my current dart...

Yea its a bit less than that. Figured it's better to buy when deap presents itself than to buy when you "need" one and have to pay a lot more.
I subscribe to that notion.
I have lots of spares for my 70 Dart. Things like window regulators, glass, hood, fenders , doors, hood hinges, trim, etc that I waited for and struck while the iron was hot.
Wiper motor, interior piece a, trans I hear 904’s are getting scarce. Most of the parts I got were for a song because I waited, even waited to buy my dart I got it from a guy who was desperate to keep his business afloat. Half price or less!!!!! Prior planning prevents piss poor poor performance. An old Army saying.

I sold one complete from drum to drum, 3.23 open for $450.00

I see some of the asking prices on here for them and laugh.
Two years ago I sold a drum to drum axle with a 3.91 SG for $800 plus a rebuildable A body 8 1/4" axle with 3.21 gears.

I wouldn't give 500 for one. By the time you pay somebody's gold plated 1000 dollar price tag, you couldda found a C body 8 3/4 and cut it to fit, or a Ford 9" or 8.8, or even a Mopar 8 1/4. If they want more than 500, let um hold it.
So axles, a good gear, and a sure grip are free? Go ahead and buy a C-Body rear, axles cut down or buy new, new ends, new bearings, weld it together, buy the parts you need to finish it, then post a price. I guess your labor is free too...

Price the parts to put together a reliable 8.75 and then make an offer. It cost money to go thru an axle so condition drives the price.

So do the parts that are in it. A cheap SG doesn’t have the value of a better SG. Factory axles don’t have the value of aftermarket stuff.

I know what I have in my 8.75, and I know what it will cost to replace it. It’s not 800 bucks.

I haven't seen an empty A-body housing for less than $350 in years, or I would have bought it and socked it away...

sorry to hear that man

hope things turn back sunny side up soon

I have an 8 3/4 rear cut down to an A Body 742 pumkin sure grip all rebuilt new seals and bearings 276 highway gears new, new brakes and drums. $1100. Had plans to install it in a 64 Barracuda I built, but was made an offer I could not refuse for the car. I am in the Pittsburgh, Pa area.
