I changed my vote for the 273, those 273 Commandos are just so pretty! 65'

Got a 67 barracuda, thought It came with a 318. Was planning on a big block swap. Eventually decided to stick with a small block, was gonna stroke the 318......
Found there weren't any 318s in 67 barracudas, it's a 273. Oh well. Back to the big block.

It was 15 below zero this morning... and we have several inches of snow. You might see another thread or 3 before winter's up !!! LOL
I can relate- it was so cold this morning, I actually had to put pants on before noon... Man, I love being retired. Just wish it was someplace warmer.

I want to retire... I just don't want to get old !!!! Oh Lookie, I've gone beyond a half century already :(
LOL

Had a 72 dart with a 318 and is was a lot of fun! The dart with a 273 what i have now is just missing some torq in the lower rpm's
I beg to differ. My 273 has broke the floor out where the seat bolts in.

here’s the dyno sheet]

I bet you have that saved in your FABO picture file for just incase!

I had a neighbor who had a 67 Camaro with a 262 sbc in modified production back in the early 70s. That little 262 idled at over 2000 rpm and he ran it to 10 grand.
All that high rpm might be fun but you break a part and you've got garbage...

Oh, I bet I could go without pants there all day long- and I probably wouldn't be the only one.
Although staying here near the kids and their families as I get older does have its advantages- people to bring me beer, change my diapers and listen to my crazy old stories...

trying not to visualize some of that........

While we're at this whole 273 vs 318 thing, anyone know what the compression height is on these eBay wonders?
Sealed Power 2260p .030 FORGED PISTON USED 318 MOPAR. QTY 8 W/PINS | eBay
I know the TRW variant of them numbered L2329F is 1.759, I'm guessing these would be the same.
NOTE: I messaged the seller and he measured them at 1.755. I'm contemplating a 360 crank ground down to fit in a 318 with a set of these on full float 273/318 rods right now. Not that it wouldn't be easier to just build a 360. But I've got most of the parts to make that happen more affordably than starting with the 360 I've got right now.
