You can really realize your age after talking to a youngster about a band that you really dug and still listen to when they say " I think I know who you are talking about"

Just wndoering about the generation out here.
My faverates on 8 track pioneer super tuner were Pink Floyd, John Lennon, Yes, Led zepplin, Reo, Bad Finger.

Best of all: Pink Floyd , Dark Side & Led for the Head!

Favorite band or bands? I could never pick just one. Led comes to mind though....

Man it's hard to name a favorite cause I like a variety of music. Sounds like we must be about the same age though as you named some of my favorites and I had a ton of 8 tracks early on.

Some of my fav's were Zepplin, Hagar, Def Leopard, CCR, BTO, Van Halen, REO, Bad Co, just to name a few.

Van Halen was always one of my favorites and so was Sammy Hagar but I think even though they are great together I liked them better when they were their own bands.

Of course my theme song was "I can't drive 55". Think I was about 20 when that came out so I was deprived for the first few yrs.

Hey Fish! I have all you mentioned on vinyl...Xcept for Def! Jeez I'm getting old.....

jeff beck, golden ear ring, Iron butterfly,
Santana :drinkers:
and like I said the list goes on!!!:sleepy5:

I'm an oldie myself, Led Zeppelin, Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Moody Blues, & the Who come quickly to mind. So many to choose from during the late sixties, early seventies.

Hey them might be worth something today. I haven't seen much vinyl for a long time. I had some old albums left when I got married in 92 but we moved 3 times in the first 4 months and somehow lost them.

Boston,Cheap Trick,AC/DC,early VanHalen,Ted Nugget,Doors,Styx,Deep Purple,Heart and being Canadian of course Triumph and Rush.Oh and almost forgot Queen.

Fishy,

My 10th birthday I got Led Zep 1, lol. My sisters were trying to start me off right.

Rush is killer. Why have I heard nothing of King Crimson, ELP, April Wine, Allman Bros., Lynrd Skynrd, or Aerosmith? lol! Yes, I have all on vinyl. What about Little Feat? Anybody remember them? Again, on vinyl.

Arrgh good point how did everyone forget Aerosmith, listened to Zepplin too thanks to an older sis. I like your cudos for Rush, till the internet and u-tube I never realized the big following they had south of the border!! Taking my 13yr old boy to see them at the end of May:cheers:

Rush was very big in the Chicago area and people here in Colorado are pretty much just getting it. They are true musicians who, in my mind, never got the credit that they deserved. Their talent is right there with "Yes" and "ELP" which is really saying a lot. My favorite album is "Caress of Steel" which is very difficult to find in it's digitized format. Of course, I do have it vinyl, lol!

I hope your son and you have a great time and please tell us how the concert was!

Caress of Stell has some cool stuff on it8)
