71 Demon 340 cars did not come standard with disk brakes. My GSS doesn't have them either. My car also has the base interior and no tach. The buyer wanted GSD to add an Auto Meter tach at the dealership as part of the GSS upgrade. My car still has the same tach strapped to the column that it was delivered new with. The fact that these cars were special ordered and not all exactly the same from the factory, then had non factory upgrades leaves a lot of room for confusion. The documentation is what proves these cars are real. Without it, these cars are hard to verify because they were not factory built cars.
I would love to have this car, but right now, I don't think I can even negotiate for it and be serious.
The seats on this car reportedly were a mistake made by the salesman. The buyer that ordered the car new wanted something that matched, probably black and white or blue and black. Something happened though and the car was built this way then converted to a GSS when it arrived at GSD. I guess the new buyer was called in when the car was ready for delivery and freaked out. This car then sat for a few months unsold due to the odd color combo.
As for price, this car is one of very few dealer super cars. GSD was the only dealer making special cars for Mopar fans. Consider if this were a Baldwin Motion, Yenko or Nickey Chevy Camaro or Nova. The spread on price between one of those and a regular Camaro, Nova, etc makes for an even bigger gap in price and the Yenko cars are very common in comparison.
