Beefing up the 8.25 seems like it would be the easiest as in not doing to much cutting an modifications?

So if say it is 2.45 , you said higher ratio gears will not bolt up but if I get the gears (3.21 or 3.55) out of a 96 or older they should fit?

Ok so much good info so much research to do an process, So with all the info so far would it be cheaper an easier to change out the gears in the 8.25 I have ,I have yet to clean it an open it but I also have my bets on it being 2.76 and if not sure grip I install it an change the gears ? I hope...
