Thanks guys. Where would one find specs on different dampers. weight, diameter, snout od, snout id, etc.etc. I read that some have even used internally ballanced sbc dampers on /6's.

    Damper compatibility

Thanks Brandon. What about if I forget about the 440. Can I use the same balancer for all the slants form let's say from 1970 up to 1986. I know that there was a forged crank and a cast crank I know that there are some differences. Aside from the timing marks could a damper be swapped from a...

    Damper compatibility

does any one know what harmonic dampers will work on the 80's hydraulic lifter motor's? I've heard that you can use a 440 damper on a /6 but I dont remember seeing anything that said what years. Bascially im looking for a damper that slightly smaller in diameter and without grooves for pulleys...

hey thanks guys, i got the broken piece off with some heat and an automatic center punch (its all i had) I was able to back it out until i could get some needle nose pliers on it. then I went out and bought a new tap. oops I did it again

Ok guys so how should I go about this? Usually when this happens to me I'm making something stupid so I either start over from scratch or I abandon the project. This time I'm hell bent on fixing this. So my dad never showed me how to get a broken tap out. Since you all are like surrogate fathers...

    broken exhaust studs

I'm just about to start fixing the same thing, although I only have 1 stud (so far) that I'm going to have to drill out. One question I have is where do I find the brass washers for securing the manifolds to the head. I'm replacing all the studs (including the ones in the head) and all the...

    J hook questions

Does anyone happen to know offhand if there on where any differences in where the brackets where located inside the 72 A/C heaterbox. I was just finishing up the heaterbox rebuild and was trying to button up all the last little things and went to install the j hook and noticed there is nothing...

    meet ginger

The 7 1/4 should be fine if your just going to drop in the motor. If you plan on rebuilding it first then it all will depend on how hard you beat it. I had a 72 dart with a 318 904 and a 7 1/4 beat it until I threw a rod then droped in a 360 that someone suposidly rebuilt and beat the snot out...

demon a/c vacuum hoses on firewall??

I'm not sure if this will help. Mine is a 72 dart with a /6 it's hard to see but the hose with the white tracer goes to the heater control valve . Sorry about the orientation for some reason I allways have a issue with it.

blower motor dosn't blow on heat or max a/c

Yup, that's what it was. Opened up the switch pulled out all the contacts, threw them in my tumbler with crushed walnut for about an hour and they weren't the same color. Before they looked like brass. Now they are shiny silver. Before I screwed the back on I hooked everything up in the car and...

blower motor dosn't blow on heat or max a/c

Thanks for the tip Bill. If I wanted to use a relay to feed the blower on all three positions would I need 3 relays or could it be done with one? Also you were the only one that responded to another thread asking the difference in these switches. Is it possible that the switch I'm using is...

need help with 7.25 rear differential fix

I second the 8 1/4, however if you have your heart set on fixing it why not just replace the spider gears. If I'm not mistaken changing the carrier is a real pain in the.... I think you have to pull the axles then spread the housing with a special tool so the shims on the side of the carrier go...
