Looking for help w/ 7 1/4 rear end

Then what? I have done that and still can not get the axles out. I tried using a big slide hammer also. I have 2.76 rear in the duster & got another 7 1/4 for free with a 3.23 in it. It's a small bolt pattern & I'd like to pull the center section & stick it in my current to replace the 2.76...

    Headers and spark plugs

I used the plug socket with wrench too , you might want to try using a rachet end wrench...not sure if it would fit. Have not tried that since I got some rachet wrenches. Would definatly make it easier if they fit !!

    Sanding for repaint

I'm getting ready to repaint my duster & am NOT going to strip it. The paint is a little thicker than I'd like , I was thinking of sanding so as to accentuate all tha body lines. Hoping to make them more "crisp" & visible . What to you all think ?

    Body Prep

I'd agree with oldvart , the only reason to go down to bare metal is if the ORIGINAL finish seems to have/is failing. The factory primer/finish is applied in almost an ideal condition at the factory. If there are many recoats on top of that , you could strip or just sand throught the until you...

    fender removal

Alright , well I used both of your ideas of removing the splash shield AND using a few extension's put together to reach that upper (hidden) bolt. What a pita that was , it didn't look to rusted when I finally got it out , but it turned hard all the way out. I only took the one fender off , I...

    fender removal

So your saying from inside the fenderwell , remove the s.shield then it can be reached ? How about the bolts on the front , do I need to remove the grille , or just the headlight parts ? I'm just trying to make this as smooth as possible , I dont have a garage(short of a pepboys car canopy) &...

    fender removal

I feel kinda dumb for asking this , but why struggle to figure it out when I'm sure other ppl have done this. And the manual I have doesn't say crap about how to go about it & the other manual is lost. I'm not sure exactly where all the points are for removal of the front fenders ? It looks...

Well , I'm pretty sure I'm going to be ordering some of the kirker urethane from smartshoppersinc. It's going to save me about $150.00-200. With them I can get a gallon of primer for the price of 2 qts from the local shop. & the urethane is about$75-100 less. Sure maybe the quality isn't the...

    Paint Stripper ??

Unless is have many coats of paint on it , I think I would just sand it down with a d/a & maybe 80grit paper. As for remover , I work at a paint store & we have solvent type strippers & water based types ( do not burn hands , AT ALL , no odor/fumes ) I still prefer the solvent type mostly...
