    Headlights off with key.

Hahah, fantastic idea. Perhaps I should wire this voice module for a few things... Even the kickdown "ooo! faster!"

    Headlights off with key.

Hmm... a buzzer! I suppose my interest in safety is greater than my hatred of buzzers. Interesting, thank you. Very straight forward wiring. Out of curiosity... What are the safety considerations for the headlights to be wired hot? I suppose if I wired headlights to power only with key on, and...

    Headlights off with key.

That's a much better approach than what I had in mind. Safer, easier. Thank you sir!!

    Headlights off with key.

Hey, My car is 73 Duster. I keep leaving my headlights on with the engine off when I park the car. Can I modify the light switch so it only has power with key on position? Would that mean just switching the tan wire to a key-on accessory fuse? Would this affect other electronics in the car...

Lurching problem and I'm out of ideas.

On the bright side I have the holidays off work and I'm not visiting family... So I have a good 300 hours to figure this one out before 2022. I'll even go as far as rebuilding the dang engine or trans (i purchased a trans build manual). :|

@pishta and @CudaFactHackJob I'm certain it's an A999 as I've cross referenced the serial # a few times to verify. I'll hop under there again today and get the #.

Sorry, I should have clarified that... It only whines on the highway in 3rd at about 2500rpm. The source of that whine is certainly the rear end. I know it's not good, but I understand that's fairly common.

Thank you for the in depth thoughts here! My initial thoughts have always been engine related, but at this point I've checked so many things I'm erring to driveline. I've already changed the O2 sensor, collector flange gaskets and the header manifold gaskets -- no leaks. What you describe...

It's a 489, so cone type. Thank you KosmicKuda!

Easy tests to do! I like you're thinking. Disk front and drum rear. I've inspected the brakes a few times in the last year but no luck finding the issue there. That said, I have to grease the backing plates on the rears so I'll take another look.

I believe a mid 1980s A999 is controlled hydraulically by the valve body?

Thank you for the input-- Interesting theory here. I've tried going from RC11YC plugs to RC9YC plugs and using high octane fuels. Ive timed from 14-20 at idle and used slow and fast timing curves. Also no vac advance. But the problem persists. Right now I have EFI on the engine, but I can switch...
