    No oil flow mystery

It did end up being the pressure relief valve in the pump! We just got frustrated and tried it with the pump off the old block, and it showed pressure so that led me to find out what the difference between those two things are and sure enough the pressure relief valve in the new pump is just...

    No oil flow mystery

We have not tried a different filter, but hearing about that second plug behind the front cover is one of the things I was hoping to hear about. If they can forget to put the back plug in they can forget to put the front one. I'll have to pull the harmonic balancer and timing cover to see

    No oil flow mystery

I went out and checked after I saw that, sadly that isn't it this time. Would have been really nice to be that simple though!

    No oil flow mystery

That is correct. We packed the pump with Vaseline and crank it over with no filter just to verify visually that it primed and got flow. After we cleaned up the mess we refilled the filter and put it on, crank again and get no oil pressure. Push the valve cover off to get visual on the valve...

    No oil flow mystery

Thank you for the idea, I went and double-checked. It just has the short nub with the threads on it

    No oil flow mystery

You are correct, talk to text didn't pick that up and I didn't proofread well enough

    No oil flow mystery

Helping a buddy try to get his wife's car running, and we've run into a bit of a problem. 1964 barracuda, slant 6, 1965 block with 1975 head. Just had the engine built by matco in Texas and we installed it today. Got everything buttoned up, go to crank it for break-in and we get no oil...

    Floor shifter options for 727??

No way!! That's awesome! I will check that out, was sad about the thought of giving up on the novelty of the push button shifter

    Floor shifter options for 727??

Original motor was a slant six, I've got a magnum 360 in it now. I had to get a machined adapter bushing from torque flight Patty to make the current transmission fit so this 727 will let me eliminate that bushing. It also comes with a 10-in converter that has 2,200 RPM stamped on it and I am...

    Floor shifter options for 727??

Last Saturday I was given a freshly rebuilt 727 to put in my 64 dart, so I will have to get a floor shifter for it since I can't see how to make it work with the push button shifter. I got online and was hit with option overload... I'm looking for recommendations, pictures are a big help too if...

    Doppelganger?

These are factory manifolds from gm LT1 engine, anything look vaguely familiar about these??? Old knowledge I'm sure, but I got a good laugh after seeing them for the first time today.

I did the forbidden swap. No, not the LS LOL

It's all put back together now, I'll try to get a video of it running with the valve cover off to show the oil flow. I had a lot of little teething problems to overcome, pushrod clearance in the tunnels, manifold gaskets not sealing at the water passage, head casting needing clearanced for...

I did the forbidden swap. No, not the LS LOL

This block I had shaved to get the pistons at .010 below deck, and I'm using .028 gasket set. The heads are not shaved at all yet. I also wanted my adjusters up high to keep my fulcrum and contact points in line for best geometry I'm going to get short of a kit from b3. All said and done and I...
