I went with the Hedman 78500 and they seem to work alright. I kind of wish I had gone with a full long tube like Doug's. I know I'm losing a lot of power with the tight tubes...
That being said, the Hedman's were easy to slip in to install, but I did have to grind off a bit on the engine...
What a great looking car. Love the year, model and color. Looking forward to seeing how it comes along!
Would love to see some interior photos when you get time.
You don't want the paint to sink when poured in... It has to be thinned or already thin enough that when you pour it in it spreads on the surface of the water creating a thin film. When you dip the part it is only going through this thin film of paint which wraps around the part. This is how...
If you go by cost to repair or upgrade, here are a couple things on these trucks to think over.
The 1996 - 1998 12 valves are great trucks - performance injectors are fairly cheap and the P7100 injection pump is one of the best pumps ever made for output and upgrade but can be VERY pricey to do...
I know I saw another member doing the fab work for just this thing. It looks like you need to just cut off more material because I remember his cuts near those inner eyelets were almost vertical.
I'll try to find the thread with the photos.
Ah, ok, I found it here:

I'm a little torn on this one.
Part of me is saying ~ hell yes drop a Hellcat in a 67 Barracuda!
And then the other voice is saying ~ but look at that beautiful car the way it already is!
Not to say I'm not doing horrible, horrible things with my car, but it's just a 73 beaker...
Either way...
Use some rustoleum rust reformer spray on the nail heads and then paint the whole thing with a fence/barn paint.
You will not stop rust from coming through but the reformer will stop it a lot longer than not using it.
The fence & barn paint is meant for outdoor use and is pretty tough stuff...
This right here is a perfect example for me:

make me an offer, be reasonable as I won't entertain low ball offers.
There are only two things I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's car preferences ... and Corvette owners.
heh, really though, that looks like it would be a fun ride!
This made me think of another recent freak accident. Like you're saying, you never know what may happen.
