No, I just go to the pump and fill up, it really is out of my hands what it costs so I tend not to worry about it. If I have to give up some other things to keep driving so be it. I like my cars the way they are.
We've got some more pics up. the Subframe Connectors and Roll Bar are now in the car. Hopefully we can get it to paint by the end of the week. After that I'll be sure to post some fresh pics!
We where looking at this car as strictly a dragster. MOPAR offers some rebuild kits for the 904, I know the 999 is the same case but I assume the "Race 904" MOPAR kit is not the same as 999. Has anyone bought these kits from MOPAR?
Does anyone have an opinion on an optimal Race Trasmission setup with regards to the physical transmission and the torque converter? Currently we have the A999 Transmission and we are looking for as much information as possible on how to race this transmission.
There is talk that with the 6.1 you need to replace the K-member with something stronger. The 5.7 doesn't have this issue. Also aren't the 6.1 still having reliability problems? I'd rather trick out a 5.7 then chance it with a 6.1.
That is something we are defiantly looking into. We have crunched some numbers on a simulator, once we can fab something and throw it on a dyno we will post the results on our site, under specs. That is probably 3 to 6 months off.
Hopefully we can get it to paint in the next few weeks, and take it out to Mopar Nationals with the Engine/Trans dropped in. It's going to be painted in the style of the Gratiot Auto Parts car, only the colors are Plum Crazy with Metalic Silver stripes.
We just got the 5.7 Hemi Crate and it comes with the PCM/ECU and all necessary wire hookups. For ours we are also getting Schumacher Specialties motor mounts and TTI exhaust headers (the ones seen in the latest issue of Hot Rod). The PCM/ECU on the crate still has the rev limited to 5700 RPM...
The Transmission Oil Pan has a half legible number on it. It looks to be the following PK4446866 9??5 5069. The ?? could be 70 or 30 or maybe 79 or 39.
