used the air gun.. so.. not too tight :) If it dies i'll put in a 9" and or switch gears to 3.55 or something less silly. It's a cone sure grip.. not even sure if it works yet
k.. pinion seal changed and all back together.... the guy put in near gears but left the stock leather seal... can't complain for free though.. i did make it a tiny bit looser than he had it, i could barely turn the pinion before and it didn't feel smooth, now it has a bit of drag and turns...
Problem with that is you would end up with 100k more in product sitting around hoping someone wants the combo you pre-built... then warranty issues cause of people blowing **** up and trying to blame the shortblock (that's why blueprint doesn't sell shortblocks) just a lot of headache..
The guy replied below it (i looked after posting here of course) said it removed over an ounce from the gear and also let more oil into the bushing area and he wasn't driving the oil pump so no real pressure on the gear.
This is my first small block and i honestly find pretty much everything easier on a BB... timing cover, oil pan.. water pump. intake.. dist... everything.
k.. let's talk about spark plug changing ease..... That's the most important factor... 360 for the win easily.... just staring right up easy to get to...
yes but you can also get alum heads and the same stuff for a small block... i have a small block myself, i just didn't thnk 50-60# would be that noticeable but i don't think about handling..
