I have 2 chunks, both 742 case 1 a 3:91 sure grip the other a 3:23 open can I take the 3:23 ring and pinion transfer to sure grip case and have a 3:23 sure grip ?

1964 dart with 273, had coolant leak after short drive looked for source of leak and seen crack in timing chain cover attached a pic you can see crack above fuel pump. My question, would this be the source Of leak? My thought was unless thread sealer is compromised it shouldn’t leak coolant...
