I recall him saying that he paid $4000 for it with the non running slant six.
Add in the junkyard engine he paid $650 for, the 4 speed setup and an 8 3/4" axle. He maybe has $7000 in a $7000 car.
I don't blame a guy for looking to turn a profit but the price is stiff. Defenders will say that...
Watching he and the other guys butcher together cars for the show seemed like something they did for the show, to keep with the Roadkill theme.
Apparently, that is how Freiberger really is.
I'm no purist but that mentality annoys me. I have a few ratty cars out back but every one of them has...
I turned 60 in November but I am still as active and capable as ever. I sympathize for the older guys that struggle to get up from laying under the car or to bend over the fenders to work on their stuff.
Currently, I am blessed. I have no limitations like that.
The guys that worked hard deserved the money that they earned.
In construction, when you did "Piece Work", it was the same thing. Some called it Target Hours. If the roof paid 16 hours and I did it in 12, I got the 16 and moved to the next house.
There were jobs I worked where I made more than...
I know a guy.....
I pulled this from a Chrysler Fifth Avenue in a local Pick N Pull. The fluid was clean.
The Dart has a 4.10 diff. I could probably scale it back to a 3.55 with that low gear transmission and still rip from a dead stop.
Yep.
Both engines are LA 360s. The one in the car is a late 70s mill from a Cordoba. The one going in is a 1990 roller cam LA 360.
Later, I plan to swap in a 727 with a factory Hi-Stall converter. I'll have to find a chunk of steel to weld to the converter or get one of those B & M balance...
UPDATE.
I plan to swap this engine into the 67 Dart sometime this month. The roller cam alleviates the stress of first fire. It always makes me nervous when a fresh mill does not start right away.
The valve covers are held down with studs in the heads and coupler nuts, I'll show that in my next...
It has been awhile since I have done this.
Years back when I was short on cash, I'd swap in junkyard engines with no rebuilding done to them and have the car running in a day.
Back then, my cars were fun but not show quality. I didn't take the time to repaint engine bays, change anything or make...
No kidding.
I see a rambling collection of bad spelling and run-on sentences and just click away. Most people are very tolerant of a few mistakes but we all have limits of what we are willing to wade through to help people.
Do you mean THESE badges?
The service manual supposedly has a graphic but I suspect that they have pegs that go through the door shell with speed nuts holding them in place.
