My tow rig/daily driver. 2001 2500 5.9 auto. It kinda struggles with anything over 12k.
Dump trailer weighs almost 6K. I usually haul about 5 ton of rock. This Cletrac weighs about 8,500. They’re not rated for much. POS 47re. But it’s all I’ve got.
Ready for something a little bit newer.
I’ll check that. I think I need the overdrive unit rebuilt, because once that happens, doesn’t it fry the clutches?

As far as the 5.7 Hemi engines themselves, I owned since new a 2013 Ram 1500 with the 5.7. Sold it in 2017…
And currently have since new a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5.7. They were powerful for their size. Always had the hemi tick though. The Jeep was faster than the truck.

If I can get my POS dodge transmission 47re Junksauce to shift into overdrive I would for sure go. Don’t feel like driving 65 miles an hour for 6 hours at 3,000 rpm in my ‘01 cummins diesel.
