    Difficult cold start

I have stock slant 6 (valiant -64) and I Am having hard cold starts. I have tried different methods, first "don't touch throttle pedal" as manual states, and then pumping pedal few times and then crank. It always needs very long crank. I think it starts best if I keep throttle pressed fully...

Valiant -64 7.25 rear spider gears do not fit

Yes, I can now confirm that this kit does not work what is somewhat strange because: - Side gears are perfect fit to diff chassis and drive axles - Cross pin fits to old and new gears and to diff chassis But gears do not fit with or without washers. I even tried to use new side gears and old...

Valiant -64 7.25 rear spider gears do not fit

I checked posts to my threads and didn't find any comments where this was mentioned. So I think it was somebody else. I did search but didn't find any relevant content, maybe my keywords were not good. If those do not fit, which rearend they are meant to? And is there right ones available and...

Valiant -64 7.25 rear spider gears do not fit

I ordered spider gear set from rockauto: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=10111996&cc=1347858&pt=13932&jsn=883 But they do not fit. Side gears go in place without problem but spider gears do not. It looks like there is no enought space to turn them in to place. Service manual just...

    Crankshaft oil slinger

Thank you for responses. I thought also that good seal would cover this missing slinger. Hope somebody who drives without that thing could confirm that.

    Crankshaft oil slinger

I disassembled my slant timing cover few months ago. Today at last got time to install new chain and sprochets, gasket, seal, damper, radiator. After everything in place I noticed this damn slinger in the table. This happens when there is much time between disassembly and assembly.. didnot...

    I think I'm missing a nut.

I know this. I just wanted to be sure about threads that I am not throwing there bolt that does not fit.

    I think I'm missing a nut.

Hole is about 50mm deep, I haven't measure it. Sure threads are there, and I can turn bolt one or two turns until it stops completely. I think thread tap is only option, I try to clean threads first.

    I think I'm missing a nut.

Thanks, my main concern is that I use correct bolt as it seems to jam just like bolt with wrong threading (eg 10 to 16). But if 3/4-16 is correct bolt, I will start with cleaning crank threads and after all get thread tap.

    I think I'm missing a nut.

Hi, I use this thread to ask. I needed to remove damper as I am going to change timing chain. I bought retaining bolt forehand so I can install damper back. Bolt is 3/4-16 , but it only goes in few millimeters to crank and then jams. Just want to be sure that there is no other threads used...

Transmission, drive shaft and differential question

Hi Guys, Thanks a lot for answers. Sorry I was confusing you with different questions in same thread. First, I don't think there is anything wrong with transmission, I just wanted to know if it is possible (quite easy way) to upgrade to floor shift trans, maybe fully synchroniced one. I dive...

Transmission, drive shaft and differential question

What are compatible trans types? Will they fit without modification to drive shaft or floor? Thanks for helping beginner
