    Inexpensive paint, gun worth considering?

There is only on paint gun anyone should buy. Its the Devilbiss DV1 line. You won' regret it. You don't need the digital DV1's either. I have he DV1-B, DV1-C & DV1-S. Cheap guns are for shooting primer.

Left hand lug nuts are back, baby!

Left hand lug nuts went extinct because they got broken off by unknowing people. And impact drivers at the tire shop did a majority busting them off. Centerlock wheel nuts have to worry about pins being sheared off and the Centerlock nut loosening itself under braking on the right side.

Appropriate Wheel Offset for 18" Wheels?

I use both 285/30/18 on a 10+" wide rim and 275/ 35/18 on a 9-1/2" wide rim on the front of a Duster. The 10" required me to add about an 1-1/2" to he lower fender support rod and I swapped out the upper control arms with SPC Adjustable Control Arms. I didn't have to do any other metal work...

Anyone running 315s on 18" wheels?

Pirelli P Zero. If you street drive you car get a tire with tread. Seems everyone on here thinks a race tire with a couple "tread grooves" is a good idea... until it rains or snows...

Anyone running 315s on 18" wheels?

I'd just skip all those skinny tires and just go with 355/30/19's on the back. there is an Avon 375 that will fit Duster's

Repro direct connection trunk lid spoiler- any ideas on mounting without drilling?

I see this keeps popping up. The simple way of installing these is to make a fiberglass mold of that area on your trunk. They make silicone sheeting that has a "sticky back" on one side that you can apply to your painted truck lid to lay up fiberglass on. I'd cover the rest of the back of the...

    Repairing a cracked wheel?

I take it that the wheel is a generic wheel that came on the car from the factory. Just buy a new one from a salvage yard. That's a no brainer. For custom wheels that you can no longer find anywhere, both cast and forged aluminum can be fixed. There are several companies that offer the...

    Center Lock Nut Theory

It's a Center-Locking Distorted Thread Lock Nut ( or reversible locknut ) and they are NOT REUSABLE. If you take them off you are supposed to replace them. Supposedly they grip a little better than a nylon insert locknuts... But they are more than likely to cause damage to the external threads...

Which tool chest should I buy?

The big Craftsman Professional Tool Boxes were made by a company named Waterloo Industries here in the states... They also made boxes for Snap-On, Milwaukee, Husky, U-Line, Kennedy and US General... I designed the adjustable tooling years ago that bent the steel for the drawers. And the...

for everybody that is using offset shackles

I am always wondering why the tire clearance issue comes up when people do spring relocations. The correct answer: These cars had +/- 1/8" tolerance in the sheet metal assembly on the assembly line. So not everyone will have the same answer. And what fit on ones persons car may not fit someone...

    Pick-N-Pull is a butt rape.

I've never had to pay any fees (or taxes) with any junkyard I've ever been to in my area. Usually everything is a cash deal. Even the classic car junkyard filled with 7,000 cars from the 40's thru the 70's ... is always cash (and expensive). The bigger problem is when you think you are going to...

74 Duster (318) ignition not working, not getting spark

Holy **** that's some cobbled up wiring. Did you unplug the bulkhead connector from the firewall and clean that up? I do it every spring on my Mopars with just terminal cleaning spray and the spray protectant you can get over the shelf. If it's never been done you might be surprised what you...
