CNC Ported Heads for 318 Poly?

Those flow numbers are with 1.94" intake and 1.625" exhaust valves at 28", easily 500+ hp with good parts and quality machining, especially with the combustion chamber designed the way it was. Those heads were decades ahead of their time, SB2 heads and most Nascar heads were copied from them in...

    Decoding a 340 help please

On the top front driver's side of the block there should be assembly date numbers stamped near the top of the deck near where the head sits on it. They will tell when and where it was assembled, what number engine assembled that day.

They fill the bottom of the ports to be able to raise and re-shape them for better line of site and airflow potential. It's been proven many, many times that improving the line of site and...

**600hp sbm block limit? Or is it bs!!**

The engine was originally designed in the 1990s for that rpm range based on what was standard practices at that time. 372 cubic inches, splayed 4-bolt mains added after cap walk was found during freshening, tubed lifter galley, W2 heads, Holley Pro dominator tunnel ram, two 750 Holleys, long...

    Kinda negative experience with summit

Was the intake actually bolted onto the heads or just the gasket set on it with the bolts in it to line it up? Could be the gasket bolt holes are off and the actual ports line up when bolted to the heads. Could also be the intake bolt holes are off and need opened up to line the ports up.

Broken rocker arms two weekends in a row

I run PAC 1355 springs on the intake valves. New intake springs are installed @2.100" and have 450# spring pressure at that installed height. 780# spring rate and 1.130" coil bind. 1200# @ 1.175". They lose roughly 50# after break in. The collapsed spring has 295# at that installed height. The...

Broken rocker arms two weekends in a row

Did the OP find the root cause of his problem? I'm betting on weak/ permanently compressed springs causing bounce and hammering on the rocker as the cause. Here is a pic of 1 new, 1 compressed spring. Both from the same batch/ manufacturer built date. The weak/compressed spring caused valve...
