doug got the flywheel for me and he said if we dont need it then it can be returned , i thought he was getting one for an external balanced motor but i guess they didnt have it , now the flywheel that was in there has holes drilled in it but on the opposite side of were they should be
cast cranks were only used for a year and a half so there isnt many of them but there are 4 speeds with the cast crank all 73 340 4 speeds were cast, i have found posts were people have a 73 340 4 spd and its all numbers matching and they have cast cranks.
but all i need is confirmation that...
someones got to know ? i would just drill the hole but if its wrong i dont want my new flywheel to be ruined ,
money is starting to get tight and i just wanna drive!
will doing this to an neutral balanced flywheel work for a cast crank 340? has anyone done this?

has anyone tried this ? i think im gonna give this a try , drill the hole and if it works then great and if not well i still have the vibration
forged steel was used until 72 sometime in 72 they started using cast cranks , now i have taken the pan off and have confirmed that it is a cast crank, i can get the right flywheel for it from napa but it will take 3-4 weeks to get one in so i was hoping i can find one that i can get quicker
ya forsure im gonna remove anything that i can get off , but how damaging is it for the paint that already is off i can see that a good amount of paint is already gone
i took off my valve covers today and noticed that the paint on the heads are flaking, just by rubbing my fingers over it some paint comes off , so my main question is how damaging will this be to the motor and should i try and remove all the loose paint, why would someone paint the heads anyways...
