Well you have to make sure there are no kinks in it and it needs to be as straight of a cable as it can from the firewall all the way to the trans. move it around a little and take it for a ride and see how it does. keep moving it around until it works freely i had the same problem after i converted my auto to 4 speed and eventually got it in its sweet spot.
