is there any other way to remove a crankshaft pulley without a puller?
got the harmonic ballancer off but i dont want to go buy a puller kit because i dont have the $$$

the pulley bolts to the ballancer, if you have the ballancer off you don't need a puller, just remove the (6) 1/2" headed bolts

Pulley bolts to the dampner (harmonic Balancer). The dampner might need a puller to get it off the crank, but you say you have it off, unless you miss-typed and you really have the pulley off, and need to get the dampner off the crank. You can buy a cheap puller at the parts store for about $15. Don't try to beat it off with a hammer.

I think the nouns are switched here. The pulley unbolts from the balancer; The balancer needs a puller ( free from Autozone).

oh BTW when i got everything out, i was surprised at how good the bearings looked. this engine is from 1968 and it looks pretty damn good. must have had a rebuild a few years ago.

Sounds good... Now you may have to get a differen't puller to get timing gear off the crank.. If the crank has ever been turned your bearings should have the size on the back of them like .010 or .020 an so on...

In 40 years of working on la blocks; never needed a puller for a timing gear.
Maybe you need to correct the memory of your notes on the computer.

I said he may have to... I'm not in the mood for a pissin' contest so ill let you the PRO help him out... "K"

Well, since he said he got everything out, he either didn't need one, or he got one.

Challenger, You can get a cam from lots of places, but you might want to post what you want and what you have so someone can give you some recommendations for a cam that will work with your combo.

Sorry i suggested he just buy a cheap puller instead of making a trip to autozone everytime he needs one... That was really bad advise on my part, my bad...
