I was reading through some threads and I thought this was appropriate so here goes. Everybody try to thank a vet today. It truely makes a difference in their lives to be appreciated. I went to the mall yesterday and as I walked in I saw an older gentleman sitting in his wheel chair waiting for his family to come pick him up. He was wearing a US Army hat with his unit patch on it. As I walked by I told my wife I should have thanked him, so I turned around and walked back. When I reached out my hand and said thank you his face lit up like a Christmas tree. He was so proud to say thank you. I told him that I too am a soldier currently serving in the Army at Ft. Bragg NC and I was home on leave. We talked a few minues and he told me he fought in WWII and in Korea, he told me "son you weren't even alive back then" and chuckled to himself. I told yes sir I wasn't even a thought. I thanked him again and he thanked me and we said our goodbyes. As I walked away I saw a couple of younger ladies walk past and say something about me talking and thanking him. I hope it was enough to make others do the same. Sorry about being long winded I just thought it was worth mentioning.
