Something that just somehow, always makes me sad

All the links here on FABO that lead to the stories like the D-Darts or other rare cars. Just carelessly crushed or tossed aside with disregard. Just hear me out, think about how many older dodge cars are/were crushed and how many are hauled off for scrap. It just makes me sad to think A-bodies used to be numerous. I can understand if a car is rotted out beyond all repair and there is almost no way it can come back unless you put an insane amount of man hours and money into it then yeah, you should save what you can off of it and then scrap whats unsaveable. Like if you had a 1971 hemi cuda that is so rusted, you could put your fist all they way through the door and open it from the inside, thats pretty much what I am talking about. I dont understand how some idiot can drive his 1968 plymouth sport fury to the nearest scrapper and say "oh well, its 42 years old, its worthless now" and sell it for 200$ to the scrapper who then crushes it.
I guess I will just never understand people who dont understand cars. Love it, Drive it, Maintain it. Whats so hard about that? My sisters roommate had a '98 Firechicken and he didnt change the oil for 20k miles and expected it to just maintain itself pretty much. When it slung a rod through the block, I told him he was an idiot and he shoulda changed his oil. "What the @#$* do you know about cars?! It was just a POS hehoah":angry7: This guy acts all hard cuz he is in the navy but ever since he got out of training, he hasnt been going to any of the meetings, he is completely AWOL. Well, since he is the genius money schemer he is and knows how to work the economy like nobody bees wax, he takes the car to the local scrap yard and makes I think about 150$. WOW. What a whopping payout! Sorry to rant:munky2:Just in a terrible mood, my dad called me this morning to tell me he wants to scrap his Ford van, I ended up arguing with him for abit, just telling him to sell it to one of the pull your part yards so someone else can make good use of all the stuff it has. I ended up convincing him not to scrap it before he calls the part pull yard nearby, but somehow I angered my stepmother with this action. :angry7:

Eh, stuff happens. Life happens. Rant over
