Anyone had ankle surgery???

Wow thanks guys, definitely getting the surgery. Have to wait a while as acting season starts now till April and have to earn some money. Apparently they have to take a tendon from another part of the ankle that regenerates and use it to fix the ones that are stretched and torn and also scrape all the little pieces of bone out. Will leave a nice big scar. Yay for me.

Speaking of falls-this ones a bit of a long story and involves an urban cliff jumping legend as well: I imported my Valiant Charger from Australia to Cape Town for the first time in 2003 and the guy who was dealing with import was having drinks at the roof bar with his work colleagues at the company building. So he went to the bathroom, was a bit sozzled and came back and everybody had left and locked up. Being sozzled he decided to try and climb down the five stories of the building which is entirely possible due to it's design. The problem was that it was drizzling. So he climbed over the ledge at the fifth story and basically slipped feet first to the pavement. I asked him what happened and he said he just slipped, fell, landed feet first followed by his face straight into the pavement. his legs immediately shattered and his jaw broke out of the sockets in his skull and was kind of hanging in his neck. he broke almost all of his teeth. i asked if he felt any pain as usually shock kicks in straight away. he said no and that it was like tripping in public-he felt really embarrassed and tried to get up immediately ad walk off but his legs were basically jelly. He was on crutches with pins in his legs and his mouth was braced up. So we got to talking and I told hm about the cliff jump we used to do which was about 25 meters (82 feet) and how a friend of ours had compressed his spine on the jump ad another had gone through his shoes when he jumped. I relayed this urban legend about the jump to him and he then told me he knew the girls it happened to. Firstly we only ever jumped in long pants and shoes. Apparently these girls he knew had gone up there, everyone had a bit of spliff and decided to jump. The girls were in bikinis. The one girl jumped ad basically ripped herself due to the pressure of the impact on the water. I was horrified that the urban myth we had known about since we were teens was true. Here's a pic of my buddy jumping the day our other friend compressed his spine. Our other friend had time to take 2 photos with a manual wind camera in the time he was in the air. I am crouched right on the ledge just to the centre left f the top photo. My friend is 6,6 feet tall. I only did this jump once and never again when I was 19.
