New Marylander

I've been using this site for occasional information for years. My first car was a 1972 dart swinger with a 318 that's built terribly. I still have it and it's still about the same. I am now getting back into it and I have some significant plans. Forums are great for information and like-minded ramblings.

I live in maryland, I'm 25, I've had the car since 2001, and I'm an engineer. Recently I've been building bikes more than cars and the dart had been sitting for a few years. I uncovered it because some guy was interested in trading me a jaguar for it (my other fetish). When I uncovered it, I knew the trade wasnt going to happen. So right now I'm working on the suspension and I'm going to pull the engine and finally see what the hell is in it.

Here's some of the specs and whether or not their confirmed:
318 v8
340 rpm dual plan intake
650 AVS carb
340 heads (not confirmed)
headers to two chambered flowmasters
stock bottom end (the guy had mentioned that he stuffed a 360 crank in there, but I dont see any work done to the bottom other than the sheet metal screws he used to repair some stripped threads on the oil pan.

Right now it has a 727 with a 2400 stall converter in it and an 8 3/4 posi with 3.55's out back. It's gold with a black vinyl top and a black interior.

If I pull the engine apart and it has 360 heads on it (which was also mentioned in some documentation I recieved with the car) then the compression is 7.62:1 and that would explain the dog this engine is. If this is the case, I'm going to slap on a holset turbo and make use of that low compression. Otherwise I intend on swapping with a FI 360.

Anyways, Thanks for reading. I have a lot of reading to do myself. I have forgotten most of my knowledge of these cars so I'll be spewing a lot of dumb questions.
