-
Richard, you'll be in the same parking lot as the Super 8 we're staying at. They're all right here in one wad. We'll roll in late thurday evening the head forthe tracl about 6 am to wait in line for the 7 am opening. See ya there.

Hey DD, are ya goin to make it?
Small Block

Mike, I'm not going to be able to make it...had eye surgery Wednesday...doing good but...If anyone finds a pair of blue arm rests for a 67 Dart I need them. They seem to be one-year-only.
You all be safe and have a good time. I hope to meet you all sometime in the near future.

Hell yes. I just finished packing my bag. my flight leaves at 830 am and one stop in chicago at 11 then to st louis at 1. cars reserved and hotels checkin at 3 so i should be there by 4 30. see you then. i can stay updated on my iphone.DD

I'm here. Decided to stay in a hotel tonight so we are in the Double Tree in Collinsville.

I did hear that recently. Neither the NHRA or NASCAR will come back because they got tired of trying to deal with the current ownership.

Apparently the idiots that own it now are determined to run it into the ground like they did their track in Memphis.

Don't know how much truth their is in it but I heard someone is looking at buying it. I sure hope someone does that has some sense.

Yeah, i hear some oil rich Arab was interested in buying it up.... oh well, guess it's better than another empty parking lot that this country is becoming. :-(

Hope all of you are having a great time w/ no rain :toothy2:. Updates & pics are welcome :toothy10:

The rain was all done early on so it was a great day. The swap meet was packed but the new parts vendors were kinda sparse. Must have been a bigger show somewhere else??

As Fishy said it was a nice day. I was surprised that there were very little A body cudas in attendance. Just did miss meeting you Fishy. I think you were loading up the parts you had at small blocks. My son was in charge of the camera so he only took a couple of pics but here they are.

I heard today that the track was sold and the new owner is leveling the oval track to make room for some hotel and conference rooms, he's supposedly wants to concentrate on the drag strip.

The Walaces and Kenny Schrader are local St.Louis-ans, I'm surprised they didn't step up to the plate and buy it.

Here are a few pictures I took on Saturday. There were a lot more cars that I wish I would have taken pictures of. It was my first time there so it was a little overwhelming.

I'm finally back home. Had a great time. I hope the event takes place next year. The drive is not bad at all and it's a nice track. I was having too much fun to drag my camera with me so anyone that wants to post pictures, please do. I forgot to re-sign Smallblocks trailer. There were some great deals in the swap meet this year on some hard to find parts.

Sorry I missed you Toplscuda, and anyone else I missed. Did meet one new member (daredevil) and that was a pleasure.

Who bought it Ken? It's good news that someone bought it. At least it'll stay open now.

I was told but I suffer from CRS and I don't remember. I believe it is someone of middle eastern decent.

If it is true, I'm wondering how they'll have the show next year because I'm sure they won't have the room if they level the oval track.

We had a great time this year
I am headed to start a new thread of this Great Strong end we ALL had this year :happy10: Yep!!! my camera is full =P~ Thank you gts340 for taking this picture for me !!

I heard there was a guy from the mideast in the bid for it. Didn't recognize the name so it didn't stick with me.

Yeah I see what you mean. Hopefully they figure out something since it's the only Mopar event we have anywhere close to us.
