Gerahead's 71 Dart
Thanks HemiPar. When I got my car, the PO had started to chemically strip the hood and never finished it. There was crap all over it. Since it was a factory ram air hood, I did not want to go to hell, so I too had it dipped. The process was supposed to leave a coating on the surface that would protect it for 6-months. I picked it up the day after it was done and it already had surface rust on it. So I sanded that bad boy right up and shot some DP on it to protect it until I got further along. That was a long time ago and it still looks good. Mine will be a longer process until it is driveable. I will just keep plugging away. Every year it seems that just when I really get the motivation revved up, The weather starts its decline into winter and I have 5-months to think about it again.
I did a single tour (4-yrs) in Uncle Sam's canoe club and followed with a 16-yr stint in the Army National Guard and retired as a MSG/1SG in '99. Thanks for your service!
