The PCM comes new with SKIM disabled. Once it is installed in a vehicle with SKIM, it "learns" the vehicle and enables the SKIM feature. You cannot "unlearn" SKIM without reflashing the PCM. To my knowledge, this is not possible at the dealership level.
The company in Michigan is B & G Chrysler Specialists
http://www.bgperformancepcm.com/#nostaligia $450 to flash your PCM! Ouch! Unfortunately, they seem to be the only game in town. If you see other companies advertising they can flash your PCM, it's because they send it to these guys.
I'm using an '05 Ram 5.7 manual trans PCM. It only has 3 connectors instead of 4, the 4th one being for the trans. Much simpler IMO. The PCM "talks to" the Data Link connector via the SCI bus and other modules (Body, SKIM, etc.) via the PCI bus.
