Heads issue

just a little bit of facts from my persomal combo. i ported a set of 915's my self with 2.02 valves{note home porting job like in a previous mopar muscle 360 build} Ran a small racer brown 520 lift solid around 10.8 compression,air gap intake,srp pistons, 3500 stall, 3.55 gear.that combo would run 12.1-12.2 all day in the quarter. wanting to go faster i ordered a set of stage 1 eddys that flowed 258cfm bolted them on with a victor intake and everything else the same GUESS WHAT 12.50's AND NO MORE. talk about a disapiontment for that much $. After talking to hughes engines they said they were very careful with there stage one heads, said if you had a set of good ported iron heads that the stage ones wouldn't help or slow you down down.needless to say i didn't send them back to the performance place i ordered the head and intake from originally, hughes engines got the call and done a stage three on the heads. guess what they finally work like there suppose to.im in the 11's on motor and very much streetable with a full weight duster. i just hate to see someone wanting a good street motor spend alot of$ for maybe not the best combo, combinations are everything. just wanted to share personal info that might help someone.
