1964 AWB Valiant

I promised that I would post pics of my buddy Vince's Valiant when it was finished. Well, he finally got it finished and out to the Billetproof Drags in Lakeland Florida yesterday....

It ran pretty hard, and sounded, and looked good...I can't really remember any of his times...it's a 1/8 mile track.

He had never launched it in this configuration, and by the looks of the wheelie bars...he wasn't taking any chances!

Here is how it looked last year with the straight axle:

Here it is now, with the rear wheels moved up 12 inches!!

Now that I got a good look at it....I know why he could never tell me how he did certain things in the front.....He used a tube, frame-stub...it simplified everything for him, but mine is going to be a street/strip car, and I kept the K-member, and innner fenders....

It came out real nice! I'm not a big fan of moving the rear wheels up in a Valiant...It looks awesome on Darts, but a little "off" on the Valiants...I think because of the relationship of the rear wheels and the roof, compared to the Darts.

Vince's car runs a 340 with a tunnel ram and two, four barrels, and an auto, and a narrowed 9-inch.

Mine has a 360, 727, and a 9-inch out of a '58 Ford...perfect fit without narrowing it!
