yeah debur the cap and bore the pump and install the large pickup as previous stated.
the crossover is a good idea too and that should be it. make sure everthiing is nice and smooth, no sharp edges. windage tray and baffle in pan. I once tried to think of a way to enclose the cam tunnel and have the oil drain into the pan in the front and back but still working on that. Some run full groove mains.(using two top bearing shell in each location) I dont like the idea though. Most important has been stated, the larger pickup, not one that has been "necked down" to fit in the stock threaded opening. My .02
