Ideas on 360 build

Just build the 360 to 1973 340 specs, which is the same as the '74 360 HP. Nice, simple, will run on 87 all day make plenty of power in an A body, will idle all day in traffic with the A/C on and still run 14s well tuned. Maybe 13s with headers, slicks and a good gear.
That's definetly an idea I've been tossing around, maybe 340 specs with a few upgrades on the cam.I'd like to run a little faster than 14s though.I'm hoping to run 12.5 to 13.5,that's my goal anyway

Find a good running 360 magnum 93-02, install bolt-ons & have the cam re-ground from bullet cams, alittle gear & stall & you should see low 13s easy, I have a 71 dart thats about 3200 with me & pulls off 12.5s through the mufflers. It has a stock bottom end, RHS heads, Air-gap intake, 650dp, summit headers/mufflers, 904 with a 2800 11" converter, 3.73 gears, i shift at 5100 & it has 17 inches manifold vacuum, i drive it everywhere, its a gas hogg. Theres no doubt i could install 3.55s to make it more highway compatable & still run 12s. It also runs great on 87 octane.
I like your engine combo.I talked to a guy that has a '94 360,high mileage but runs ok for $300.Might be a good base for a rebuild.I have a mid '80s 360 already that's free but the newer one might be a better option.I don't know.

If the 318 runs good and strong already, just invest into a good cam and a powerdyne set up with a innercooler. You will run low 13's, tuned well will get High 12's and be street friendly all day long.
Forced induction is defintely out of my budget right now.
