There are a few B-29 still around but FIFI is the only one in flying condition. There was another one up in the north pole or some where like that. They were trying to rebuild it and fly it out. They almost had it flying when there was a fire and it burnt to the ground.

That was not the north pole, it was in Greenland, called Kee Bird:

and it's tale of woe is truely sad. A man died during the ordeal, and there is a huge controversy over whether those involved were simply not careful enough---the fire was caused by a jerry-rigged APU in the rear of the aircraft.
