Wow, two pages for something that isn't a big deal. Sure the way it was done isn't really correct but its nothing that 5 minutes with a welder won't fix.
The big deal is that he paid good money for something that shouldda been done right the first time. You're right in that it's a small thing, which actually makes it all the worse because it couldda been done right from the onset with the same amount of effort it took to flub it up.
