A local guy suggested putting the car up up on jackstands with the jackstands sitting in a metal drain pan filled with oil. Said he has been doing it this way for years with no mice troubles whatsoever.....
Couldn't a mouse just jump off the floor, into the engine compartment, get behind the fenders and make it's way into the passenger compartment? The oil trick would keep out ants..... I have also heard rodents can't stand the smell of fabric softener sheets.
